📊 Qualitative User Interviews: Interviewed 10 participants to validate the home-based beauty booking problem. All participants used Instagram as their primary (and only) discovery platform.
Key Problems Uncovered:
No way to filter by location, price, or service type, users had to manually browse profiles one by one
Discovery was heavily dependent on word-of-mouth and algorithm recommendations
Booking through Instagram direct messages was error-prone and relied entirely on the owner's responsiveness
Deposits paid via PayNow felt like a security risk with no buyer protection
Biased reviews, providers only show good reviews on their pages
Appointment management was manual, users had to add dates to their own calendar and frequently forgot
Persona: Clarissa is a busy student who needs a centralized app to book a home-based beauty service because she finds it time-consuming to book through current platforms.

⚙️ Process:
- Usability testing was limited; real user feedback before finalisation would have caught friction points earlier.
- Jumped to high-fidelity screens too quickly. Should have spent more time on wireframes and low-fi iterations before committing to visual design.
🎨 Design:
- UI leans too heavily on purple. I'd revisit the colour palette to create better visual hierarchy and a cleaner, more professional feel.
- Needed a proper design system with defined spacing, typography, and component rules.
